At OCN London we have developed a new group of qualifications that are aimed at learners, staff and volunteers to help them stay safe and have an understanding of the Government’s Safeguarding Agenda requirements. By delivering these qualifications, not only will you be benefiting your learners, staff and volunteers, but if you are Ofsted inspected you will also generate evidence to meet inspection requirements.
Safeguarding in a Working Environment
These qualifications are for staff and volunteers who are working, or intending to work, in environments where safeguarding could be an issue, including, but not exclusively- educational institutions, charities, public sector organisations, independent training providers, local authorities, adult learning providers, taxi companies, public transport and mobile service providers. Teaching resources and assessment tasks have been developed for the Level 2 Award in Understanding Safeguarding in a Working Environment making it ideal for fast and effective roll-out.

Health, Wellbeing and Safeguarding
The purpose of these qualifications is to help learners to gain an understanding of the importance of the holistic nature of health, wellbeing and safeguarding issues and be able to apply a person-centred approach.

Digital Safety
Taking our lead from the Government’s Internet Safety Strategy, we place safety and security at the core of our Digital Skills and related qualifications. The objectives of these qualifications are to teach safe online behaviour when using a variety of different technologies. The Level 1 Award in Internet Safety has been developed as an accessible entry point to ensure that adults and younger learners make safe and responsible decisions online.

We have developed these qualifications in line with government initiatives to ensure that people in schools, colleges and across the public sector have a good understanding of British values and citizenship, the Prevent Duty agenda and their responsibilities to safeguard learners. We have developed awards specifically designed to address these issues. Teaching resources and assessment tasks have been developed for the following suite of short awards, making them ideal for fast and effective roll-out.
