About this qualification
Qualifications in Level 1 Skills for Professions in Construction and Engineering aim to provide learners with the skills and knowledge required to progress to further study related to construction and engineering and ultimately to work in these or related sectors. The qualifications are available as an Award and Certificate.
The Level 1 Award is a bite-sized qualification which acts as a ‘taster’ for those wishing to explore vocational study alongside learning skills, while the Certificate is a more substantial qualification which can be incorporated into a 16-19 study programme as the core qualification element. The size of the qualification allows for the option of the other required study programme elements of maths, English, work experience and enrichment activities to be taken simultaneously.
