    About this qualification

    The Level 1 unit in the OCNLR Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment has been revised by the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) in consultation with employers and the following dates have been agreed for the qualification and its replacement:

    The OCNLR Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment provides an important foundation to health and safety for individuals working or intending to work within the construction industry. It covers risk assessment for maintaining and improving health and safety at work, working safely at height, safe manual handling, and safety in relation to working around plant and equipment.

    The OCNLR Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment fulfils the mandatory training requirements for the CSCS Green Labourer card (Construction Skills Certificate Scheme).
