Hillcroft is a vibrant and innovative National Residential College for Women. We're a little bit different from other Colleges because we specialise in intensive, residential education designed specifically for women aged 19 plus. Providing a solid platform from which to develop your academic and personal skills, our Stay and Study philosophy has, over many years, proven to be successful and will allow you to engage with your study programme without any external distractions. You will also benefit from unrivalled 24/7 access to our Learning Resource Centre and computer rooms. We're a small College where the friendly staff team really understands the needs of women learners and provides a wide range of wrap-around support to help you focus on achieving your potential. With an enviable programme of enrichment to complement your studies Hillcroft is able to provide a holistic learning experience.

Learning support: Special attention is always paid to the needs of individual learners and the College is proud of the amount of learning support it is able to offer. Ofsted commented in our most recent inspection (2014) that “students receive excellent personal and academic support”.

Accessibility: As a residential college, we seek to meet the needs of our diverse student and staff group in a variety of ways – from sourcing meat from halal butchers and offering a range of meal options always including fish and vegetarian dishes, to accommodating students who are less mobile in the most accessible locations, providing a mobility scooter, installing hearing loops in classrooms, and providing space for prayers and reflection.

Access to HE Diploma (Humanities and Social Science)

Attendance: Residential
Progression: From this course students have progressed to the following undergraduate degrees: English literature; law, criminology, criminal justice, social work, creative writing, psychology, sociology, counselling, history and even product design. Many undergraduate degrees such as law want students to have studied a variety of subjects and have a strong academic grounding before they commit to a single subject. Each university will provide information and will have specific conditions regarding entry requirements, specifically regarding maths, English and science subjects. We advise that you check the relevant university entry requirements of your preferred degree choice/s.
