About this qualification
The OCNLR Level 3 Award in Supporting Children and Young People's Speech, Language and Communication provides learners with the specialist knowledge and skills to support children's and young people's communication development. It aims to enable learners to feel more confident in working with children and young people with speech, language and communication needs (SLCN).
The Award is for those who are working with children and young people to support their communication skills, including early years' practitioners, teaching assistants or support staff in a variety of childcare and education settings, and those working in health, social care, youth justice, youth work or support work settings.
This Award is the result of collaboration between The Communication Trust, who welcomed OCN London's request to deliver this qualification, and a number of awarding organisations.
