New UCAS tariff - the Access to HE Diploma is included in the new UCAS tariff system. Learners applying to start university from September 2017 (i.e. studying an Access to HE Diploma in 2016-17) who achieve the Diploma will receive UCAS points based upon the the number of Pass, Merit and Distinction credits they achieve.
UCAS have produced resources to help learners and advisors understand the new tariff and how it works for Access to HE, including a video, tariff calculator and full tariff tables (pp. 113-118).
NHS bursary reform - Nursing, midwifery and allied health professionals starting on degree programmes starting after August 2017 will have access to the student loan system instead of NHS bursaries. Following a public consultation, the government has produced a policy paper outlining the changes to the funding system.
